  • A typical therapy session lasts for about 50 - 60 minutes.

  • In-person and virtual appointments are offered.

  • Please discuss bringing someone with you to your session prior to your session. Due to confidentiality reasons, this is not recommended. If it is for safety purposes, such as needing someone to drive you home afterward or other safety reasons, we can accommodate this. We will talk about the pros and cons of bringing someone to your therapy session, and there may be additional paperwork for the person to complete.

  • No, not at this time. In the case of an emergency, please contact 988 or 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

  • This will depend on what you want to work on in therapy. We will talk about the frequency of meetings during the initial intake assessment. I will provide a recommendation for how often would be best to meet, considering your goals, and support you in meeting at the frequency that fits best for your life. Starting out, it can be helpful to meet more frequently to establish a therapeutic relationship where there’s more familiarity and comfort.

  • This also depends on what you are wanting to work on and accomplish in therapy. I support and respect your autonomy to decide how long you want to be in therapy and will provide recommendations along the way.

Practice Policies

  • I require a 48-hour notice for cancellations or rescheduling of appointments for non-emergency situations. If less than 48 hours' notice is provided, the full fee for the session will be charged.

  • If you arrive 15 minutes or more late to a scheduled appointment, it will be a no-show, and the full fee for the session will be charged.

  • What you share with me in the session stays between us. There are, however limitations to confidentiality, which include the following:

    ● Plans and/or intent to act on suicidal ideation: we will identify social supports that can help keep you safe. I will prioritize your autonomy, and we will discuss several options that support your overall well-being. In some rare cases, it may be necessary to notify the appropriate authorities if a client reports having a plan and intent to act on suicidal thoughts and isn’t able to keep themselves safe.

    ● Disclosure of abuse to a child or vulnerable adult: I am a mandatory reporter, which means I am legally required to report any abuse (physical, mental, sexual) happening to a child (younger than 18 years old) or a vulnerable adult (anyone who can’t take care of themselves)

    ● Disclosure of plans or intent to hurt someone else.

    ● Court orders or subpoenas: I may need to comply with these and will notify you in these situations if possible.

  • I am not able to provide 24/7 services and may not be able to respond right away. To support your safety and well-being, please call 988 or 911 or go to your nearest emergency room, all of which offer 24/7 services in case of an emergency.

  • I work with clients who are 14 and older. There is additional intake paperwork your parents/legal guardians will need to review and sign. The same limitations on confidentiality apply.

  • Sessions are not recorded. I may record a session for training purposes but will only do so after receiving written and verbal permission from the client to record. The client has a right to revoke this authorization at any time. If a client requests to record a session, we will discuss the risks associated with this on a case-by-case basis.

  • If a client needs a referral to a different treatment provider or has completed therapy, we will discuss termination. If more than three weeks go by and a client has not scheduled an appointment or followed up with the therapist, they will be automatically terminated.
